Omar Rivera is a multimedia content producer based in Hillsboro, Oregon. Since joining his high school’s broadcast journalism class as a teenager, Omar has built a career rooted in the power of storytelling and community connection. His work centers the voices and experiences of marginalized populations — including Latinx, visually disabled, and LGBTQ+ communities — with a commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and human-centered design.
Currently, Omar works as a Narrative Content Specialist for the Oregon Department of Human Services, where he produces multimedia content that informs, empowers, and connects Oregonians to vital resources and services. Prior to this role, he served as a Multimedia Specialist for Oregon’s fourth-largest public school district, using digital and print media to elevate student voices and foster community engagement.
Omar holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies & Film from Portland State University and a Master of Science in Multimedia Journalism from the University of Oregon.
